Blur background

Thanks for adding this functionality, even tho if I import for example a circle, the image imported has white corners. Would be good if instead it would be transparent ;)

Simone Menegaldo: how?
Simone Menegaldo
josef pa: On the left, it's how protopie imports background blur on a circle at the moment. On the right, it's how it should import it.

Simone Menegaldo: how do you use this feature?
Simone Menegaldo
Josh Camire:
You have to use blur background on sketch and then import it. They didn’t add the blur background from ProtoPie for now (which would have been nice) but just the possibility to import it.
Josh Camire
Simone Menegaldo: Hmmm. I tried this on a shape layer but I don't see it working. Are you in the latest public build or is this in a beta version of Protopie or something?
Josh Camire
I'm on Version 4.3.0 (4.3.0.1471)
Josh Camire
Simone Menegaldo: As for the circle shape can't you put it inside a group and make rounded edges then clip sublayers?
Simone Menegaldo
Josh Camire:
I’m on the same public version. If background blur is visible in sketch, protopie should import it as an image 🧐
I don’t know why it doesn’t work for you.
For your solution, yes that could work :)
But then it’s kind of easier as I was doing it before protopie 4.3, which means exporting as an image the object with background blur from sketch and import that image in protopie lol
Josh Camire
Simone Menegaldo: Oh ok, I see what you mean. Like it doesn't actually render a background blur in real time like Sketch does, it just imports the blurred area as a bitmap image.
Simone Menegaldo
Josh Camire: exactly that. And not even with transparency. That’s why my initial issue with the white corners.
Josh Camire
Simone Menegaldo: ok gotcha. Yeah I was excited that this was real background blur in Protopie. Thanks for the help.
Simone Menegaldo
Josh Camire: No worries, I was waiting for real time blur too :/
Simone Menegaldo
Josh Camire: Hey Josh! Sorry I found out just now that THERE IS an actual live working background blur, it's here! You just need to create it natively from Protopie and not from Sketch! It's awesome man!!!
Josh Camire
Simone Menegaldo: oh woah there it is! Yo this is awesome!

Just add support for all the backdrop filters, why stop on blur :)

If you want to try, there is a little trick, but it only works on browser preview.
Create a rectangle black and fill it with 20% opacity on Protopie, upload on cloud.
Using the browser inspector, select the div of the element and add:
backdrop-filter: blur(20px);
