Built-in User Testing Solution

I believe as a User Experience Designer, our role is to research user's preference, likes, dislikes, or how usable a design is...no prototyping software has truly realized why UXers need a screen design software (unlike Photoshop).
Please implement a truly marvelous built in User Testing or Usability Testing platform for Protopie, where we can define missions, create success path, and share it with our target audience to gather quick feedback on our prototype and learn from our mistakes/shortcomings in prototypes to create a truly user validated design.
Please refer https://Maze.design
If you need ideas/suggestions or help in designing built-in User testing platform, I will be more than happy to help.

Will this feature also be available to Pro plan users? My team uses Maze for user testing and it seems that there is not much progress to integrate Proto Pie and Maze. While my team doesn't require 3 seats for hi-fi prototyping, user testing is crucial for us.

This is great! It's a function most UX tools don't have, and a differentiator between figma (all the more important now because of the merger).

Hi everyone. After integrating with Useberry, Cloud team is now planning to provide user testing / research features in the near future. Of course, it'd start with a simple MVP.
We definitely need your help in understanding your paint points, JTBD. We might reach out to you quite soon. If you can share your precious time for an interview that'd be fantastic!
Thanks,

DavidT Kim: Hi David. We use UserTesting.com and Maze for our user testing. If we run the protopie in the browser we get data about paths followed, time for task etc. however if we test using the protopie player app we can't get this info. But obviously if we are testing an app we want testers to use and app not mouse and keyboard in a browser.
Hence support to capture data from prototypes when embedded in a UT.com or Maze test would be ideal. Figma prototypes can do this, as well as XD and other much lower fidelity prototyping tools.

Jake Rayner: Hi Jake. Thanks for comment. Do you do "quantitative" unmoderated research more often?
If you conduct qualitative moderated research as well, what are your tools and workflow?
I'd also love to hear more feedback from you in person if you can spare max 30 minutes on Zoom?
- If yes, I can reach out to you over email.

DavidT Kim: Hi David, sure thing, lets catch up and discuss further. What is your email address? Ill send you an email and we can look to set something up

DavidT KimHi David, a little late to this discussion but this is very relevant to our team at the moment.
So a bit of a background of how I got here and to protopie.
Our workflow was-
- Figma for design
- Figma for prototyping
- Embedding Figma prototype link into Maze for User testing
- Analysing user journeys and success and failure rates both quantitatively and qualitatively using Maze reports and session recordings.
- Back to Figma to iterate based on feedback.
- Handoff to dev.
However, Figma/Sketch have obvious limitations in terms of the interactions it offers, for example, sensor, keyboard support and conditionals. So protopie offers the choice of incredibly realistic prototypes, which is ideal for user testing.
Our new workflow including protopie is-
- Figma for design
- Protopie for prototyping
- Useberry for user testing (Tried Useberry solely for protopie support, but prefer Maze due to it's rendering of mobile prototypes in the browser)
However, now I've run into a roadblock of not being able to use the fonts I've used in my application, and it's truncated text or modified layers on the prototype in the user test because Protopie only supports font integration for Enterprise users. Figma and Sketch both allow font integration in the prototype itself.
I've upvoted the Google fonts feature request made earlier on this forum, but any kind of font embedding in the prototype on all plans would be really appreciated as otherwise Protopie is a perfect tool for what we want to accomplish.
Thanks

During the pandemic, user tests are done remotely. It would therefore be very useful to have a plugin or a way to visualize the tester's interactions with the prototype. It would be necessary to be able to record the screen during the session, to visualize the click zones, the duration of each task, as well as to know the profile of the tester.

It will be AWESOME!
I have to say that I used Protopie for user testing on different platforms like Smart TV, Desktop, and Mobile Apps, and it worked great! The only problem was that I couldn't do this remotely because I used specific font, and when I tried to use the web player, all the text looked weird.

Testing Links
Zeke Skovron
My team uses Usertesting.com to test our designs with users. We currently use InVision to prototype, and provide users with a link so they can view the experience. InVision has very limited interaction capability--so prototypes are very basic and don't always feel like an actual website / app. Protopie does let you create a public link to include in testing software, but it doesn't appear correctly on a phone unless you have the app (and requesting testers download an app is something most user researchers would like to avoid). I'd like to request an update to the links protopie already provides that are more suited for testing purposes.

Any updates on user testing implementations?
