CSS export of animations
Kanchan Pandey
There should be a way to copy or export all the animations as CSS so that the developers can easily reproduce the prototypes.
Fredo Tan
Hey everyone! We released Interaction recordings a while ago (available in all plans).
Check out this example: https://cloud.protopie.io/p/f53cf5733b/r/c4121801.
Easily share your prototypes with visual documentation that covers every action and detail of each trigger and response. All based on the user journey you designed.
Leaving nothing to interpretation. This way, communicate each interaction with intent, context, and precision.

What do you all think of this?
- Would this satisfy your need for CSS export instead?
- Would your engineers be able to implement your interactions without misinterpretation (and with more ease)?

This missing feature is literally the only thing preventing us (Reddit) from going Enterprise. Devs don't have time to sit there and copy and paste data. Please allow export.
Marcin Piotrowski
Bump in this thread - when (or if) the CSS copy/preview will be available in ProtoPie?
Leo Yang
So does this feature exist now? (CSS export of animations)
Acea Spades Black
This is so dang important, folks! I'm with a studio (https://sundragon.tech) that uses React / React Native extensively. Exporting CSS, JSON, and Lottie is SO paramount to our choice to subscribe to ProtoPie for our UX designers. Please implement! You folks got everything else right!

Disappointment on handoff and pricing plans

Florin Ursu
Guys, I have two disappointments:
- the 1st one is the new pricing plans. It feels more like an EA strategy on what you did, having to pay extra to be able to have the handoff.
You can't imagine the hassle to make a business case to get my first licence. i have no chance to make another one to my manager to change it to the second tier.
- the handoff. You marked the topic as completed, but it's not a full handoff, but a partial one. The dev can't get UI specs. This means that if there are any changes to be made in the layout, I have to make them in Figma first, not in Protopie, just to be sure I'm able to share them with the devs. I really hoped Protopie would the only tool I'm using, but looks like it's not the case for the moment.
Ivan Alekseev
I agree. For example, when as a freelancer I'm trying to use Protopie more in my work, but for now I have only 1 project, I should pay $500/year to handoff this project to developers.
Stephane Massey
This feature should be part of every plan.

Fredo Tan: I think the problem is that it doesn't serve the needs of freelancers, which is now especially more common during the pandemic.
Daniel Doktor
Fredo Tan: I think this is a good first step to when I need to make an handover to a frontender. Before I had to write the transitions down and explain them, and comment/reference them in figma.
But I could also see the value in this with a css example of the animation, like you see in figmas inspect.
A thing that would be really nice with the current interaction recipe, is that you don’t have to record the interactions. They would just be there, so when you publish, it has recorded it all.
Further more I think the word “Recipe” is a bit misleading - I get the play with the word in relation to baking a pie. For a developer I think a more direct word like spec-handover would be more intuitive.
Gustavo G. Forster
Fredo Tan: Yeah that's nice. It's unfortunate that such a basic feature is for team and enterprise plans only.
Ric Aruffo
Fredo Tan: I think it is a really good start. A few things still missing for me are shape colors, font family, font size, font color and font weight.
Gustavo G. Forster
Yes please, that would be amazing.
Michele Fornasier
I have to agree. The pricing to have the handoff is way too high expecially for smaller freelancers. I so much wish it was included in the Individual Plan.
