Disable Touch Hints as default / Player app
Dan Benoni
+10 bump for this.
Having the very first step of a mobile app pie be that step of is very weird and confusing for our users. Similarly for the nudge of "Two finger double tap to open the Play Control". This feels more like something for "us" as Pie creators with multiple pies on the same device, not for a user test that's typically done in a single, linear flow, starting from a URL that we share.
To be honest, it kinda breaks the spell of the immerse experience we want to create for a test and it adds friction. Especially because going to disable it isn't easy for someone who never used Protopie's app before.
Having URL parameters to control these nudges would be immensively useful.
Thanks.

Patricia (ProtoPie Team): Patricia, I don't think this might be considered Complete, as Joe Szcz was referring to removing the hotspots as a setting for the pie project itself, not from the player.
The issues with the current player setting is that I have to teach those I'm showing the prototype how to deactivate hotspots, which contradicts the scope of user testing. It should allow the designer to set it as a global setting for the pie she's working on.
Please do reconsider the status of this feature request. Thanks

Florin Ursu: My apologies, it's now possible to toggle off touch hints for pies tested on web browsers, but I believe they indeed still needs to be manually disabled in the Player. I'll reopen it and specify it refers to the Player app. Thank you ;)

Patricia (ProtoPie Team): This is counter intuitive... I tend to use the ProtoPie app to run tests, and so the Touch Hint should be always disabled by default. It's a pain to ask the user to toggle off for each test.
Also, even thought I've set the Touch hint off in the shareable link, it does not work when it opens in the app. So is this a bug? Shouldn't it open like it was set in the shareable link?
Regardless, it should always be off by default in my opinion.

Pedro Ivo Hudson: If you disable Touch Hints in your Pie url, it only applies to web browsers. It still has to be disabled manually in the Player app. We'll pass this feedback on to the product team!
