Multi-selecting layers

When selecting multiple layers in the scene (not the Layer list) I am unable to select an object if it is within the boundaries of the existing selection.
For example, if I have 4 ovals arranged in a square formation, and a square in the middle of these. I first select all the ovals (or even 2 opposite ones). Now the square is within the boundaries of the selection and I am unable to click it.

I agree as well. I have a hidden layer group above the one I am attempting to select and Protopie wants to select an item within that hidden layer rather than the visible one I want to select. I can double-click my way through the layers, but that’s time-consuming and makes multi-selecting layers challenging as well.

Agree, it makes a very difficult to select multiple layers. I constantly have to think about the order I select layers, and it really slows down the workflow.
